The World Economic Forum Global Competitiveness report gave Maltese banks a score of 6.6 out of seven, placing Malta in the10th place for soundest banking system. This has confirmed the government's assurances that local banks have a good and well securitized financial position. The firm but flexible regulatory approach adopted by the Maltese authorities has ensured a properly regulated market and solid banking system.
