Following the termination of the 1980 double taxation treaty between Maltaand the USA a new double tax treaty was signed between the two states. The double tax agreement was signed on Friday 8th August, 2008 at Auberge de Castille in Valletta, Malta and shall come into force after ratification by both states. The treaty constitutes a further advancement in Malta’s double tax treaty network and is of significant importance to Malta especially with regard to cross border trade, commerce and investment.
