The IT Infrastructure in Malta is of international standards and is constantly and rapidly being upgraded. The Automatic Digital System satisfies normal requirements.

The Digital Network is present over fiber-optic and copper local loops and is constantly being upgraded. Bandwidth is relatively inexpensive and is presently sustained via 2 submarine cables and a 155Mbps backup carrier grade microwave bridge station. Other submarine cables are currently being laid to increase bandwidth.
