Efficient and Competitive Capital Markets

Investment Capital may be obtained from the public sector as well as from private sources.

The private sector comprises a variety of local and international commercial banks. Both foreign and local companies can avail themselves of local lending facilities at very competitive rates and loans that can span up to 25 years.

The Maltese Government further offers good incentives to new investors who can negotiate soft loans covering up to 75 percent of the projected capital outlay.

Commercial banks have in recent years expanded the scope of their lending portfolios and the increasing number of international banks setting up office in Malta for both local and international purposes reflects the international perception that Maltese banking is considered to be extremely sound.
